Barton has been selected as a key research partner in the new Prison Education Action Research Lab (PEARL), which is being launched this year by the University of Utah with an $8 million award from Ascendium Education Group.
The Central Kansas Community Choir (CKCC), in conjunction with Â鶹¹ÙÍø’s Music Department, will host a festive evening of sacred and secular choral music to welcome the holiday season at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 8 at the First United Methodist Church Great Bend at 2123 Forest Ave., in Great Bend.
Students taking lessons through Â鶹¹ÙÍø’s Community Music School will host a recital at 1 p.m. Dec. 6 in the Dorothy Morrison Chapel in the Fine Arts Building.
Barton at Fort Riley student 21-year-old Chris Boothe grew up hearing his father’s stories about analyzing fingerprints and other evidence, so it is no surprise he has chosen to pursue a career in the same field to help law enforcement as part of a crime scene investigation team.

Barton Construction Technology Program Coordinator Matt Mazouch attended the Associated General Contractors (AGC) of Kansas and Build Up Kansas Conference in early November, where he was recognized as the 2025 Post-Secondary Instructor of the Year in the Western Region, and Â鶹¹ÙÍø was named the Post-Secondary School of the Year for the Western Region.
