Barton’s Theatre Department will launch its first High School Playwrights Festival in spring 2026, offering area high school students the opportunity to write and showcase original theatrical works.
Barton has named 285 students to the President’s List for the fall 2025 semester. To qualify for this honor students must have been enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours and maintained a grade point average of 4.0 on a 4.0 or "A" letter scale.

Barton Dance Theatre will host a second Fairytale Kids Camp fundraising event this spring, where children aged three to eleven who love fairy tales can enjoy a camp full of creative expression led by Â鶹¹ÙÍø Dance Theatre students from 2-5 p.m. Feb. 7 in the Fine Arts Building.
The Â鶹¹ÙÍø Foundation has announced the creation of the Lily Akings Legacy Scholarship, a fund established to honor the long-time Â鶹¹ÙÍø County Health Department Director and her remarkable commitment to public health in Â鶹¹ÙÍø County. The scholarship recognizes Akings' years of service as a nurse, leader, and advocate for the well-being of the region she cared for so deeply.
