Barton’s Director of Instrumental Activities Jamie Minneman participated in a once-in-a-lifetime experience last week by marching with the Saluting America's Band Directors (SABD) in the 97th Annual Macy’s Parade in New York City.

The Âé¶¹¹ÙÍø Library will team up with the English department and Âé¶¹¹Ù꿉۪s literary annual “Prairie Ink†staff to host a writing workshop from 6-7:30 p.m. Nov. 30 in the Cavanaugh Room in the Âé¶¹¹ÙÍø Library.

We all know maps change.Ìý Political boundaries for cities and even countries are a good example.Ìý The map discussed today is different.Ìý A map many not even be aware of unless you are a gardener, horticulturalist, or crop producer.

Barton Theatre’s Âé¶¹¹ÙÍø Bards troupe, in conjunction with the Great Bend Community Theatre will present a live, “old-fashioned†radio show presentation of “A Christmas Story,†by Jean Shepard at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 5 at the Crest Theater, 1905 Lakin Ave., in Great Bend. Admission is free as a gift to the community.

Last week’s column discussed the high nitrate concentration found in private wells in our area.Ìý High nitrate concentrations are a very real health concern for everybody by especially for young children and people with certain health conditions.Ìý
